Catherine has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Graphic Design from Illinois Wesleyan University. She has spent most of her professional career creating editorial content and graphic design in lifestyle, wellness, pop culture, and narrative fiction spaces, and more recently in screenwriting.

Catherine’s art is inspired by peeking through the folds of culture and fantasy, with emphasis on her favorite fantasy worlds, history, and fandoms. Her words and work have been featured on USA Today, Nerd Wallet, NPR’s All Things Considered and Here & Now, The Huffington Post, Healthline, Greatist, SELF, GQ, Architectural Digest, Buzzfeed, and more.

When not making art or writing, she watches movies en masse and plays games of the tabletop and video variety. She resides in the Chicago area with her husband Steven.
